How to Calculate the Feast Days
Calculating the feast days is very important for keeping track of the feast days to come. You only need these things:
- Your Brain
- Lunar Phases
- Bible Verses
- Image listed above (Later on in this page there will be a less-
blurred image)
Let's get into it!
Calculating the Spring Feasts
Here's an image of the Hebrew calendar, this can
help you calculate which month it is:
It shows the normal months, and the Hebrew months.
In fact, this is gonna help a lot with calculating the spring and fall feasts.
So, to calculate the Passover feasts, we need to look
at these 2 bible verses right here:
Exodus 12:1 -> YAH said to Moses and Aaron in the land of
Egypt. Exodus 12:2: "This month shall be the beginning of months to you; it is to be the
first month of the year to you. Exodus 12:3 Tell all the congregation of Israel,
'On the tenth day of this month they are to take a lamb or young goat for
themselves, according to the size of the household of which he is the father,
a lamb or young goat for each household. Exodus 12:6 -> You shall keep it until
the fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of
Israel is to slaughter it at twilight.
Now, this verse is talking about Passover, in the
second verse, it mentions that on the first month, and on the tenth day, but you
can't let that confuse you, cause you got to read carefully, the tenth day is about
buying a lamb, and not the Passover, it starts that at twilight (which is sunset/night)
of the 14th day. So the Passover is the 14th day of that month from sunset to the
15th day of that month until sunset.
Now that we know that information, I want you to look
at the image above, if you need to look at it better you can just click it.
Now, you can see that the first month is Nisan, so
Passover is in the month of Nisan. Now, in order to calculate when the month starts,
you have to look at these moon phases:
Calculating Passover
Now, if you look at the calendar, Nisan usually starts in the middle of March, in
the Hebrew calendar, a new moon means a new month, so in that link I put in, look
for a new moon near Mid-March. That's the new year, and to calculate the sunset of
Passover, find out the new moon near the middle of March, then calculate 14 days
after that, and thats your Passover sunset! If you only want to calculate the
official day, count 15 days instead of 14.
Calculating Unleavened Bread
And after you've calculated Passover, it's very easy to calculate the feast of
First fruits and the Feast of Unleavened bread. First let's do Feast of Unleavened
bread see where the official day (not the sunset day) of Passover is. Then count 6
more days after the official day of Passover, cause Passover is the first day of
Unleavened bread.
Calculating Feast of First Fruits
Now, to calculate the feast of First fruits, you have to calculate the
next sunday after the official day of Passover. Now you may be asking, what if
passover is on a sunday? Would feast of First fruits be on that day too?
Great question, the answer is the sunday after that Passover, so if Passover was
on a sunday, it would be the next sunday, not that day.
Good job if you officially have calculated the
spring feast days!
Calculating the Summer Feasts (Pentecost)
Calculating Pentecost
The summer feast day is Pentecost (also known as Feast of Weeks). It's very easy to calculate it:
calculate 50 days after Feast of First Fruits (Feast of First Fruits has to count as 1 day). If you want it to
be easier though, calculate 49 days after Feast of First Fruits. Make sure you don't miscount, and that's your
Pentecost date!
Calculating the Fall Feasts
For this one, your gonna need to look at the
Calendar image again, I'll put the Image here again so you don't have to scroll up
Calculating Feast of Trumpets
Now, the step to calculating the fall feasts is Feast of Trumpets, once you've
calculated Feast of Trumpets, the rest will be easy, now let's calculate it.
>All we need is Leviticus 23:24, let's look at it:
>"Say to the children of Israel, 'On the first day of the seventh month
, you shall observe a day of solemn sabbatical rest, a memorial day announced
by the blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.
That bible verse is about YAH talking about Feast of Trumpets, and the thing
you've got to look carefully at is, YAH states that on the 1st day of the 7th MONTH,
so you've got to calculate the beginning of that month, and how is looking at the
Image, and the lunar phases.
And if you can see, the hebrew 7th month is Tishri, which lies around
September-October, so we know that the beginning of Tishri is Feast of Trumpets,
which that makes it a gaurantee that Feast of Trumpets is in September.
Now, Similar to Passover, a new month means a new moon. So you've got to look at
the lunar phases near Mid-September. The new moon in Mid-September, that's your
Feast of Trumpets!
Calculating Day of Atonement
Now, if you've already calculated Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement will be
very easy, let's look at this verse:
Leviticus 23:26: YAH spoke to Moses, saying, Leviticus 23:27: "Also the tenth day of this seventh month is
Day of Atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble
yourselves by fasting and present an offering by fire to YAH.
Now, if you look in verse 27, you can see that it says the 10th day of the 7th month,
which if you looked earlier, day of atonement was the first day of the 7th month. So if
it's the 10th day of the 7th month, all you have to do is count 9 days after Feast of
Trumpets. And you may be like "Why only 9?" Well if it's the tenth day, Feast of
Trumpets is the 1st day of the 7th month, so total that's counting 9 days after
Feast of trumpets, and you've now calculated Day of Atonement!
Calculating Feast of Tabernacles
Now, we are on our final feast! Let's calculate Feast of Tabernacles! Let's
look at this Bible verse right here:
On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month,
when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the
feast of the YAH for seven days, with a Sabbath rest on the first day and a
Sabbath rest on the eighth day.
Now, if you looked, it says on the 15th day of the 7th month, so if Day of
Atonement is the 10th day of the 7th month, you'd count 4 days after Day of
Atonement. And that's your Feast of Tabernacles!
Congratulations! You've calculated the Feast Days! Please let me and Chad know
if you liked this information or not or if there's any suggestions, have an awesome week!
